Make Every Journey Safe and Stress-Free

Travelling with pets can be fun if you plan it right. Pets feel safe when they know what is
happening, so start preparing them early. The first step is a vet visit. Take your dog or cat to
the vet 1 to 2 weeks before travel. Make sure all vaccines are updated, especially rabies. Ask
the vet for a health certificate because airlines, trains, and even some hotels need it. If your
pet gets car sick or scared, the vet can give safe medicine to keep them calm. The second step
is choosing the right carrier. It should be big enough for your pet to stand, turn around, and
lie down. Put a soft towel or their favorite blanket inside so it smells like home. Start using
the carrier at home 10 days before travel. Put treats inside so your pet thinks it is a happy
place. Never force them in. The third step is packing a pet travel bag. Keep food, water,
bowls, leash, poop bags, wet wipes, a toy, and medicines in it. Pack extra food for 1 extra day
in case of delays. Do not feed a full meal right before travel. Give a light meal 3 hours before
leaving so they do not vomit. For car travel, never let pets sit on your lap or with their head
out the window. Use a seat belt harness for dogs or a secured carrier for cats. Stop every 2
hours for water, bathroom breaks, and a short walk. Never leave your pet alone in a parked
car. In Multan’s heat, a car can become deadly in 10 minutes. For train or bus travel in
Pakistan, check the rules first. Many services need pets in carriers and charge a ticket. Keep
your pet calm by covering the carrier with a light cloth. For air travel, book a direct flight to
avoid long hours. Small pets can go in the cabin if the carrier fits under the seat. Big dogs go
in cargo, but only use airlines with pet-safe cargo areas. Put a live animal sticker and your
phone number on the carrier. Tape a small food and water bowl inside the door. Give a walk
and bathroom break right before check-in. During travel, stay calm yourself. Pets feel your
stress. Talk to them in a soft voice. Do not open the carrier in public places because they can
run away from fear. When you reach a hotel, check the room first. Hide wires, close
bathroom doors, and check balconies. Put their bed and toy in one corner so they feel at
home. Stick to their normal food and walk time. New places can upset their stomach, so do
not give new treats on travel day. After travel, give them rest and lots of water. Watch for
signs of stress like hiding, not eating, or heavy breathing. It takes 1 day for pets to adjust.
Always keep an ID tag with your name and number on their collar. Take a clear photo of your
pet on your phone before travel. If they get lost, you can show it to people. At PAWKOI, we
believe travelling with pets builds strong memories. With a little planning, your dog or cat can
be your best travel buddy. Do not leave them behind out of fear. A safe carrier, vet check,
